Burlington Livestock Exchange is pleased to announce that on Thursday, October 28, 2010, we will be hosting the regional livestock auctioneer contest. This is a contest designed to promote the livestock auction industry, as well as bring to the forefront the professional auctioneers who strive to make it successful. The finalist in this contest will advance to the world championship held in June 2011. This contest held at Burlington Livestock Exchange will draw contestants and spectators from all parts of the country. For our auction on Thursday, September 2, 2010, we sold 671 cattle for 31 different consignors. On a light test the feeding weight steers and heifers sold fully steady. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 1 to 2 dollars lower. For our sale on Sept. 9 expecting 1000 head. |
